What is
a Mobile Identity Card?
Mobile Identity Card is a system, developed inhouse, which virtualizes identification documents into the environment of a mobile phone and enables subsequent identification using the stored virtual document.
The system works based on the standard ISO/IEC 18013-5.
Mobile Identity Card modules and functions
Virtual document
Our system allows you to download virtual documents (virtual copies of physical documents, or secure identification data without a physical document) to a mobile device and then use that virtual document to prove your identity. The security elements of the physical document are replaced by cryptography where virtual document data are electronically signed.
End-user mobile application
The mobile application provides all the necessary functionalities for users, i.e., downloading issued documents, displaying them, deleting them, and proving identity. Data stored on the mobile phone are protected at the highest level of security.
Control applications (police, government, airport service)
Part of the solution is an application designed for control bodies (police, government, etc.). It communicates with the end-user application. The control body application establishes a secure connection with the end user's application, transfers data, and then displays it. The control application is compatible with standard Windows devices.

Additional features of the Mobile Identity Card platform
COVID-19 test & vaccination confirmation
Mobile Identity Card system may also contain documents of a negative test and vaccination for COVID-19. This feature significantly facilitates movement of people at borders or airports while bringing up the possibility of simple control.
Possible uses
The system can provide proof of identity or age for various purposes. The specific use case then depends only on the issuers of virtual documents (state, health insurance companies, interest groups, etc.) and acceptance points (police, government, airport service, etc.).
The future of mobile identification documents?
MONET + develops technologies for the production of standard travel documents - electronic passports with biometric elements. It is, therefore, logical that we also monitor developments in the field of mobile documents. In this area, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is leading the standardization process. It is working on a standard that will specify the mobile version of the passport, or the so-called Digital travel credentials (DTC). MONET + is closely monitoring developments in this area and is preparing solutions for the future.
